November has seen another 6% reduction for the month which wipes out the increase from Septembers double digit increase. The index was also 26% higher than the same time last year. The prices are expected to marginally increase in December but the prices are being artificially bolstered by higher copper and alloy prices.

The CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index is updated monthly using the prices on offer for scrap cars at CarTakeBack recycling centres throughout Australia. It is intended to give an indication of the movement in the price from one month to another, with the prices being shown as a percentage. Cars come in all shapes and sizes which has an effect on their scrap value, so prices have been adjusted to show what the average car would be worth.

CarTakeBack Australia through its network of recycling centres endeavours to always provide the most competitive prices, so why don't you give us a try, by accessing Australia’s only online instant 30 second quote and find out how much your car is worth.
