What to expect when you choose our free collection service.
How do I arrange a collection date?
After you've accepted your quote, we'll try to contact you by email or phone to arrange a convenient time for us to collect your car.
We'll try to contact you as soon as possible to arrange collection, but please allow up to ten working hours after you've accepted your quote.
If we're unable to contact you by phone and we have your mobile number or email address we may try to send you a text or email. Please check your junk or spam filters to allow emails from info@CarTakeBackAust.com.
When can you collect my car?
We'll do our best to fit in with you and most collections are arranged within two working days.
Collections usually take place from Monday to Friday, from 8am until 5pm, with some collections happening on Saturday between 8am and 12 noon, depending on what suits you. But please let us know if you're in a hurry, or you need us to collect your car earlier or later than this, or on a Sunday, and we'll do our best to help.
What happens on the collection day?
You'll need to have some things ready:
- your photo Personal ID;
- your keys, if you have them;
- your documents (such as the registration certificate, service history, test certificate and manuals) if you have them;
- finally, don’t forget to remove any personal belongings and rubbish.
On the collection day we'll:
- arrive at the agreed time;
- check your car's details on the Personal Property Securities Register;
- take care of any paperwork;
- sort out the payment.
Why do you need to see my Personal ID?
We need to check your Personal ID when we collect your car so that we can check that your car is registered to you and that you have the right to dispose of it.
The Personal ID you should show needs to be photo ID, such as your driver's licence or passport.
What is my reference number?
Your reference number uses the format 'CC-0000-000000'. We'll give this to you when you get a quote and it will be shown on any emails we send to you. Your reference number makes it easier for us to pull up your details, including the price we've quoted.
Does my car need to be accessible for it to be collected?
No, we'll try our best to collect your car if it's in a difficult location. However, unless you tell us otherwise we'll assume that your car is accessible.
If you tell us that your car might not be accessible after we've provided a quote, we'll let you know whether or not we need to adjust the price. If we do adjust the price, there's no obligation for you to go ahead.
What is accessible?
Accessible means that your car is parked on solid ground with inflated tyres, so that it can be safely winched onto a recovery vehicle. It is important for you to tell us if your car is not accessible, for example if your car is blocked in, the steering is locked or the tyres are flat, as this could affect the collection of your car and accordingly the validity of the quote.
